Dutch startup of the week: Meatable

Our editorial team has a varied diet. Our blend of carnivores, vegetarians, and flexitarians can make plans for group meals divisive. But we’re all united in our fascination with cultivated meat.

The Netherlands is often called the birthplace of the lab-grown cuisine. It’s also become a hub for today’s emerging sector.

One of the scene’s leading lights is Meatable. The startup recently hosted the first-ever (legal) cultivated meat tasting.

“It tasted just like meaty sausages do!” Meatable co-founder Krijn de Nood told TNW.

Conference speaker to watch

Each week one of our writers will share a top tip for TNW Conference. Today’s pick comes from Ioanna Lykiardopoulou:

Being a sucker for AI-driven healthcare applications, I’m looking forward to watching Elina Berglund, co-founder and CEO of Natural Cycles, the world’s leading contraceptive app.

A Swedish particle physicist and entrepreneur, Berglund founded Natural Cycles with the mission to provide women with a hormone-free alternative for contraception.

Berglund is among the femtech innovators who are helping close the gender gap in health data.

You can find out more about Berglund, femtech, and health data’s gender gap here. And if you want to hear Berglund talk at TNW Conference, we’ve got a special offer for our readers.

At the ticket checkout, use the code TNWXMEDIA to get 30% off your business pass, investor pass, or startup packages (Bootstrap and Scaleup).

That’s all for this week’s round-up. Until next Friday, tot ziens!
