Bloodsucker? There’s a free online Vampire: The Masquerade convention this weekend

Renegade Game Studios, a company that makes numerous products for the World of Darkness, is hosting a free two-day online event called “Elysium: Weekend of Darkness” from 11 June thru 12 June.

If you’ve ever wanted to play the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop roleplaying game, but you’re not sure how to get started, this event’s for you. It’s also for returning players, people who want to check out the Rivals card game, fans of the popular LA By Night TV show, and anyone looking for a master class in running a roleplay session.

Here’s the full schedule of events:

For those who aren’t in the know, Vampire: The Masquerade is a traditional tabletop roleplaying game that’s been around for decades.

The above events include “demos,” which, in this world, means live gameplay sessions you can watch to get a glimpse of what it’s like to play these games and what new features are being added as more source material is released.

There’s also going to be a Rivals demo showing off Renegade’s V:tM themed expandable card game.

There’s also a season 4 recap and season 5 update with cast members from LA By Night. And fan-favorite Annabelle will get their own “character to card” event – we presume this means actor Erika Ishii will host. You can read more about the show itself here in my glowing review.

But, perhaps most interesting, are the workshops. Jason Carl, the Storyteller (a V:tM word for what’s traditionally referred to as a dungeon or game master) for LA By Night will be discussing Storyteller secrets on Friday and there’s a writer and game creator’s workshop on Saturday.

Finally, for the lore lovers out there, the Elysium event also includes several trivia contests.

Check out the event’s homepage here to get your free ticket.
